After installing aftermarket radio my interior lights would "flicker" when I turned my steering wheel to the left. If I pushed on the radio face plate the lights would not flicker. Then all of my interior lights including gear and heater/ac selector lights went out. I see no fuse or circut breaker for these??? Also tried a new switch but no change. When I turn my switch on the stereo lights change indicating a load? Please help!

No. This is a 2003 frontier by the way. The aftermarket radio was in the truck for several months before the lights went out totaly. Also the radio lights still work but nothing else.

Dont give up on me.... I guess this might be easy if I knew where the "Fuse" or circuit breaker that would control the interior lights was. Everything I have read and seen on the truck indicates that there isent either leaving me to belive that the switch or the dimmer dial must be the "Fuse".
Any help would be appriciated....

The reostat (dimmer) may be the culprit. Try turning on the lites and operating the dimmer up and down repeatedly to see if the lites start to work.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">

Took it out no luck. So I gues I am accurate that there is no fuse or circuit breaker? Ive been working on cars along time and this eems odd to me. But hey it could be pay back for pearl harbor...
Could I jump the wires that go to the dimmer switch without causing damage to see if it takes care of problem?
Sounds like its got to be the switch or the dimmer?
Thanks for your time.

It would be easier to just plug in another dimmer.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">

First off: Im no expert, at all. I just sat down and thought a bit, looked over some diagrams, and thought I might toss a theory out there.
This is what I looked at.
Now, looking at that wiring diagram, it looks like dang near every light in the cabin goes through one single problem wire: the white wire with the black stripe. You said that it only happened when turning the wheel to the left, so Im going to guess this could be what caused this wire to work loose and lose contact, or something?
Ive looked at the steering column wires and the diagram above, and I think Ive found this wire. It comes right off my ignition switch and goes down the column and into the harness that plugs in near the bottom of my steering column.
Hope this helps!
EDIT: The wiring diagram linked on my site is for a 2003 Frontier, not an 04 Model Year like mine - so no worries, it should be exactly whats in your truck, but perhaps not what is in mine.

Good stuff. Ive tried a new ignition switch AGAIN and no luck. Havent tried the only other possibility, the dimmer switch cause its a little harder to find. But both were justa shot in the dark based on my symptoms. I think you r on the right track cause the whole steering wheel thing NEVER made sense since the switch and steering wheel are not "Connected". I wonder if that wire connects to the new stereo? I will look.
Thanks for your input!!!! I will take a look at it this weekned and let you know.
