Hi!  Just found this site and am hoping someone here can answer a question.  Our son had a 2000 Frontier which unfortunately was totaled on 12/23.  He escaped with no injuries!  We are now looking for a replacement vehicle for him and have found a 2001 Frontier.  The mechanical aspects of his totalled vehicle are fine, so we are considering keeping it to use for replacement parts in the future.  Does anyone know what parts of a 2001 are interchangeable with a 2000?  We know the bumper and front of the body are different but are mainly interested in mechanical parts that would be easily interchanged.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this question.  NCMom

The motors and such are the same.  Though there was probably a ECU reprograming from the 2001-2002 Model change due to the increase weight.

We would have a better idea though if we knew what motor we're talking about here.  The 3.3L V6 or the 2.4L I-4.  Also if you're only going from 00-01, there shouldn't be a body change at all.  The 2nd gen Frontier (mine) didn't start till 2002.

Most if not all the parts will inter change. I Have an 00 crewcab 2wd. I am converting it to 4x4 using mostly Xterra parts. I would recommend getting the Nissan Fast program that way you can cross reference part #'s
