I am having a problem with a 2000 frontier that i am unable to communicate with the computer with my snap on solius or modius the only way I have been able to get codes out of the truck is with the cheap code reader. Which isn't terriable but I need to get data out of the truck to try to fix the check engine light. Does any one have any tips as to where I could start? I did make sure there is power to the DLC which I figured was ok anyways since the code reader powered up.

Which DLC are you using? Seems like in 00 there were 2 DLC's, maybe not, I may be thinking of something else. Remove the fuse cover and see if the old style DLC is there.

I was using the OBD II connector I will check and see if I can find the other connector I did find one on the schematic but could not find it yet. I pulled the connector off of the PCM and looked for corrosion or terminal push out and nothing yet Cry

The other style DLC should be behind the fuse cover- lower left.

Just wanted to post that I had a code in this truck for the idle circuit I believe it was PO505 I found the IAC valve was stuck, I took the valve and motor apart and the motor worked fine, but valve would not move . Broke the valave free and cleaned it up, and now it works fine and the light has not come back on atleast not yet
