(said in best Bill Lumberg (spelling?) voice) ....um...yeahhhhhhhh....i'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there. LOL j/k with ya..
seriously, the 3.3L V6 wasn't exactly a gas saver motor...rating for city put it at i don't remember 17 mpg range..and i avg about that sometiems more and that's driving very conservatively, my brother had an 2005 Frontier til he traded it in for his Titan and he would actually avg about the same as me if not better. He actually avg. 18 mpg towing his jeep off road rig on a 1000 lb trailer about 70 miles and back with it as well. plus it's a hell of a lot more powerful of an engine, i can tell you if i could afford it.i would have bought an '05 frontier myself or a titan, but alas budget is a factor..and that's not to say i'm not happy with my fronty..i have an '01 crew cab 3.3 and i like it...but we have to be honest, we kinda got screwed in the motor department...they should have dropped the 3.5 from the pathy in it, because it got same mpg and i believe 240 horses and 260 ft./lbs. of torque. anyway...i personally think the newer ones are nice, but i do agree with kcidmil, that there is debate between the S/C model and the reg V6 and personally i could have had a super nice 02 S/C desert runner for cheaper than what i paid for mine..but i didn't feel like feeding it premium gas all the time and felt like for a S/C engine...the extra 40 horses wasn't a huge gain, tho it'd be nice i'm sure. anyway..tha'ts my dollar's worth of 2 cents, and for comparison, here is information from the 04, 05, and 06 off of autotrader.com sorry if it's not a link but you can cut and paste
