I have a few other questions for anyone who knows anything about Frontiers.  Sometimes but not always when I start up the engine in the mornings I get valve tap until the lifters pump up (3-4 secs.).  I called the dealer to see if there are any bulletins on this he said no.  But I have found all kinds of information on this on websites that you folks have directed me to.  Also I think I have a cracked manifold on the right and left side.  Can someone please tell me how to get these problems that Nissan knows about fixed?  This truck only has 74,000 miles on it.  Any information would be appreciated.

The valve tap is a normal nissan thing mine has done it .

As for the manifolds you are SOL unless you have the 100k warrenty  they are not hard to replace just very time consuming. You can get the maifold parts pretty cheep on line.

This is  a copy of the Nissan service bulletin, yes it is a common problem and yes Nissan does have a cure for it. Take a copy of this bullitin into the service department and they should fix it for free. Good luck!
