My 2001 Frontier has one of the running lights burnt out. For the life of me I cannot see anyway to change it without taking the whole light assembly off. Is there an easier way?

Yes it is the headlights, this one on the left but I will replace both. The headlight had 3 bulbs, the main headlight, the turn signal and then one clear bulb for daytime running, but it does still work when the headlights are on, which I always have turned on. In the link provided, the image shows the headlight and it is the one above the orange turn signal. http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/do/MediaNav/year=2 001/make=nissan/model=frontier/firstNav=Gallery/photoId=2020 2225?control=true

I've got to tell you- I had a HARD time changing that bulb! I bet it took me 3.5 hours to change that one damn bulb!! It only took me 30-40 minutes to remove the stock air box and install the K&N intake! I kept wishing I had smaller hands! I just never could get enough room to twist the housing to get it in place. And I NEVER got it in the normal way. I ended up having to use my saw-z-all to cut 2 strips verticle and parallel to each other: making a sort of flap that I could then fold the metal up a little, and get my hand in there. I don't know if you wanna do that, I know I sure didn't but about 5 hours of working on the truck, being held up by this 1 tiny bulb, I just wanted it over with. If you try everything you can think of and still can't get it, the flap method does work but it's a shame to cut the metal. Sorry I don't have a better answer....maybe ask your wife/GF (with small hands) if she can get in there??
