I have a 2006 Frontier, I have been having what I thought were problems with my battery but I think it may be bigger than that. Sometimes my battery will read low and either struggle to start or not start at all, but what I have noticed is that when it does start all my gages bottom out and "flutter" for around 5 sec or more and then they go up to the normal readings. Is this a short somewhere?

Sounds like a battery with an internal short.  Get it tested somewhere.  You may need a new one.
