I drive an '07 Frontier, bought new one year ago (Nov '07). Within two weeks of purchase, the TPMS indicator light came on. I checked the pressure in all four tires, not finding anything that I thought would trigger the alarm. A quick trip back to the dealership revealed that one tire was just below the recommended inflation level. Weather-wise, we had just been blasted by a cold-front and the temp had dipped well below 32 degrees. I asked the service tech to inflate all tires to 3# over the standard pressure to allow for the colder temps. All was well. I never had another problem with the system until earlier this month, when the light came on again. This time, I found a slow leak due to a roofing nail buried between the treads on the right rear tire. Even though I had 24# of pressure in that tire, I decided not to drive it to a local tire shop. Instead, I jacked the truck, pulled the tire, took it in for repair, and all was well again. I'm glad the system came with my '07. Otherwise, I would have been out of town for the next full week with a slowly leaking tire, eventually pulling the spare to get around.
Have any of you folks had any legitimate problems with the TPMS or had to have it re-set by a tech for whatever reason? This was what I was expecting when I had my first experience with the TPMS... "oh no, just another thing to go wrong", but I'm a believer now.
