I Just wanted to show off my new nissans. A 2005 Frontier crew cab LE 4x4 and a 2005 Pathfinder SE. I bought the Pathfinder in February. I had wanted to Get a red Frontier but I saw the white one and thought it would be cool to have matching trucks. The Pathfinder is the wifes.

I love the design of these trucks and the engines are awesome. A bonus is that it doesn't cost me $90 to fill it up like my brothers Titan.

This is a picture of the rack set-up that I put on my Frontier. I bought a Roll-Bak hard tonneau cover for it. I wanted the flush fitting hard cover but I didn't want to have to take it off if I bought something big. I also needed something to carry my bikes. I already had the bike racks but they wouldn't mount up top so I bought the bars and towers and then the tracks and then mounted the tracks to the bed covers side tracks. It was really easy to do.

This picture shows the bed cover rolled up into it's canister and you can see how I put the smaller tracks on top of it. The bike rack and towers are totally removeable and it only takes about five minutes. It all locks too so no one but me can get the stuff off. All of my rack components also mount onto the Load Warrior basket that I have on the Pathfinder.

The Roll-Bak cover was the best deal for a hard roll up cover, only $700 with no tax and free shipping. I bought it online and they said 45 minutes to install. Yeah right! When it got delivered I took everything out of the box and there were no instructions! I downloaded the generic ones but they didn't make any sense. About five hours later I had pieced it together. After you mount the canister with the cover in it you clamp on the rails. The ad said that it worked with the utilitrack system but the clamps got in the way of the tie down cleats. I ended up taking off the clamps and just drilling the holes through the side of the bed caps. It looks a lot better and the clamps don't get in the way. The one thing I didn't like was that I had to remove the utilitrack at the front of the bed to mount the canister. One of these days though I'm going to come up with a way to mount it in front of the canister so I can use it again. I still have plent of track left with the other four. I love it though. The canister cover is about 8 inches wide at the front of the bed but it's not very deep so there's still plenty of room for cargo. So far I've hauled a dinning room table, chairs, a hutch and even a seven foot long couch. So it doesn't really effect my cargo carrying ability.

Yeah I got one of the original Pace Edwards (jack rabbit covers)  If you look on my cardomain site, it collapsed in due to a excess of heavy wet snow.  Took me 2 hours to pull it off, fix, and put it back on.  The place that installed it said it would take 2 hours, I don't see how.  The company was right when they said it would take 1.

KCIDMIL, I was reading through some of the other forums, are you Air Force? I was just wondering. I'm Navy Aircrew. I fly on P-3C Orions. I read you guys talking about Afganistan and Iraq. My squadron had birds in Kandahar and Baharain. Somehow though my crew ended up in El Salvador. It was cool though because we busted 90 tons of cocain in three months and I stayed at a hotel making $73 a day. Rough life huh?

Yeah rough, because that hotel probably cost you $25 a day didn't it?

Yep, there's 3 of us on here that I remember.  Joehova was on his way to Colorado, but that was a few months back.  I haven't heard from him since.  I hope he made it alright.  He was in Barksdale LA, but he was supposed to leave right before the storm hit.

I'm a mechanic for the AF and work on Forklifts and Cargo Loaders.  A rough job because I'm always in demand.  I got one of the lucky drawings to do 8 months... LOL.  Really though, I volunteered to do TCN duty in Iraq (watch the local contractors come on base and work).  But that didn't keep me from doing my normal rotation, so I had to forward deploy to Bagram.

I'm glad you said the Orions , because if you did anything with the A-6s I would have to give you a week vacation.  Those suckers did nothing but annoy, and piss us off.  Plus they about gave me a heart attack my first week in Bagram.

When they were coming in to circle to land, they would power down right over the AF camp, and it would sound EXACTLY like one of 107mm rockets the Iraqis shot at us in Kirkuk.  First day I woke up to that, I was like "ohhhh sh*t"  Later on we cursed the suckers because of the damn high pitched whine they put out at full throttle.  And the stupid things were parked right in front of our shop.

I don't think a P-3 would scare anybody. It's a four engine turboprop and they aren't very loud. They were originally an antisub platform but they upgraded the avionics and they use them for recon now. It definitely has some cool stuff. I was reading some of the other boards. I should have put my post on the new guys board. No problem though. Hopefully I'll have something else cool to share about my truck later on. I really want to find someplace to take it off road just to play with the 4x4. I'm in Jacksonville, Fl. and there really doesn't seem to be anything close that isn't someones private property.
