Iam looking to put a exhaust and intake on my truck and wondering what luck others have had with there mods?

I like the price on the gibson..but i went to youtube and i think it sounds like bees in a coffee can.! Is there a exhaust on the market thats just alittle deeper the stock ?

As for intakes the aem brute force has sparked my interest. It has a dry filter so the oiled up maf wont be a issue. Anybody have one of those on there frontier?

I have a 08 frontier cc short bed le with 7,000 miles and i seem to get about 18mpg

I have a CherryBomb muffler with a turndown on my 2.4.  I think it sounds a little deeper than what you describe. Mine sets off car alarms sometimes.

As far as the intake goes, are you looking for a Cold Air Intake system to replace stock, or are you just looking for a high flow filter? I've seen research done by K&N where they literally soaked a filter in their oil, then ran the filter to see if it would effect the MAF sensor and it did nothing. Then they took it a step further and dipped the MAF in a cup of oil and ran it with out major problems. MAF sensors have a cleaning cycle to get rid of contaminants.

If you do decide to get an oiled filter just remember when you re oil it, just put a LIGHT coating of oil on the filter. The good thing about oiled filters is that they are washable and re-usable.

..

Just a little note for the 4x4 crowd...

Aiming the exhaust tip down and driving on dirt trails stirs up much extra dust. This quickly fouls the air cleaners of those following.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Why did the U.S Government remove food and fuel from the inflation rate?... It sounds better at 4% … I think some of us know better!…

muffler swaps are what i consider to be the least expensive way of doing a exhaust system, i personaly have tryed both i had a 05 kc nismo frontier that i replaced the stock muffler with a flowmaster. it sounded great but it sounded like one of thoes rice burner cars. so on my 06 cc nismo frontier i installed that banks exhaust system... what a diffrence..
