Hi.

I am new here and was wondering if anyone here had experience or knowledge on installing an air conditioning system in a base model Frontier that came without one. I know a guy who wants to keep his truck because of the deal he got for it, but the truck does not have A/C. He is moving to Mississippi so life without A/C during the summers of the South is going to suck. Any suggestions? Anyone heard of a kit to install an A/C system? Anyone here install one? Thanks.

The truck is a 2004 ~ 2006 base model.

There is a big difference between an 04 and 06,they completely changed the design of the truck for 05. I'm sure it can be done, but it will be difficult. He would probably have come out better buying a truck with an AC installed, than buying one without and installing one.

I never messed with the ac on my truck. My old car's ac went out. The comp, evaporator core, and something else would have ran about $1500 just parts...not labor. I went without ac for 6 months in south louisiana, and it sucked hard.

He could save a lot of money doing it himself, but the parts will still be expensive.

If he decides not to do it, make sure he sells the truck before he moves to mississippi, no one in the south will buy a truck with no ac......no one.
