hello all, I've just aquired a '02 frontier V6 supercharged 4x4 . It was my brother's......his wife sank it in a mud hole . He said water was up to the steering wheel. There is no water in the engine, rear end, differential. He told me that it wouldn't start but when towed it, all the lights started blinking and the door locks went crazy. Has anyone ever dealt with these sort of problems? I'm figuring that I'll have to put in a new computer and wiring harness right off the bat. Anyone know a good place to find these parts and an est on the computer and wiring harness? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Wow, sounds like you've got your work cut out for you! I'll bet if you did an internet search for "refurbishing flood-damaged cars" (or something to that effect), you might turn up some interesting sources of info. What with all the illicit work that was done several years ago on Katrina storm-damaged vehicles, there's bound to be a wealth of information out there somewhere.

Hopefully it only takes a couple of grand to get her up and running. i'll post up the progress as it goes. Again........if anyone has any advice on this let me know! i'm down for any input/recommendations!!   My brother is robbing the tires off of it tho.........putting them on what used to be my land rover, hopefully i'm not getting dicked on this deal!!

..

dcolbyh;

Welcome to the group

A friend had a mid ‘90s Pathfinder that had been flooded. It had the problem that on rare occasions it would not fire the plugs and start. It turned out to be a corroded wiring plug in passenger side kick-panel.

Good luck with the project!

 Have a good one and see you later… Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State .

A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer! One took my wife!... J/K

Yeah this gonna be a daily driver for a bit. The truck only has 43,000 miles on it so I figure she'll be good for a while. Getting outta the military so I'm headed back to school. Gotta get something that is gonna be better on gas later. Thanks for the input guys/gals. I'll be talking with some mechanics and junkyards to see if I can track down some parts. The truck should be delivered to the mechanic by the end of the weekend. One of the things that sucks about being overseas is that I'm not able to take care of these things myself. As soon as I get some feedback from the mechanic I'll post everything so that hopefully it can be of some use to someone. Anyone got any tips on some trail worthy tires that won't jack up my gas mileage or wear out on the asphalt in a week?!?  Oh yeah, DANNYG I see that you have a scout. I haven't seen one in a while. My grandfather had an old scout. That thing was a beast! Got any pics of it?

Hello all! So I've gotten some good news and bad news. We found out that there was water in the tranmission fluid, but we are thinking that since it hasn't been ran....it may be ok. When the computer was opened up, it was full of red clay. We've got a new computer put in it and it fired right up. I am hoping that I lucked up and the tranny will be fine. That's all the progress i've had so far. That's the problem with being on the other side of the world.......I can't stay on everyone's case and get them to hurry!
