A little background. Owned since new 98,000 miles 1999 Frontier 4x4 with a VG33E motor that overheated because of a radiator hose failure then took out a head gasket.
Local machine Shop rebuilt the heads and replaced the Lifters with new ones.  Ran the bleed down procedure, 1000 RPMS for 10 minutes and the lifters initially quited down. Ran it for 1 day and the lifters started clattering. Then all heck broke loose. It ate some of the lifters, both cylinders.

See Pic's

Any Motor heads with ideas?

Took the heads back to machine shop after tear down again and am waiting for their determination.

Personally believe faulty lifters or assembly.

Tnx for any opinions

..

Leeman;

As a moderator on dial-up and one that hates to wait for PIX to load then have to scroll horizontally to read the text...   I would normally blow away the over sized photos but because of the technical nature we' will let it fly.

I have read of many such failures on other forums with other vehicles. Many of the causes have been crummy foreign manufactured parts. A few have been poor lube.

Good luck and Let us know the out come.
