I have a 2006 Frontier SE 4x4. I bought it used with 26K miles on it. Just this evening I noticed a noise coming from the front of the truck (a dulled spinning pop) that is dependent upon my speed, I'm talking 5-10 MPH. When I put it into 4H or 4L the noise completely disappears. Place it back into 2WD, & I hear it again. No grinding that I can tell.. Is this normal propeller noise, or what??

                Thanks!!

..

TX35;

Welcome to the group.

... I'm not familiar with the later 4x4s. Are you sure the front automatic hubs are disengaging? I back mine up about 15 feet while turning the wheel a little in each direction. Other than that Jack the front and see if the wheels rotate independantly.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State . A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!
