Does anyone know if undercoating your truck from a professional is a good idea? I heard someone say that it makes the truck heavier and harder to work on for mechanics. I have an 01 and there are a few places underneath that I would like to take care of now while it is early.

Check out what a gallon or two weighs. Under the fender wells will help with the noise.

... To prevent the floorboards from rusting out remove the mats and seats and ’undercoat’ the inside of the cab. It’s hard to believe but they rust from the inside to the outside.
