I just bought an 06 KC Frontier XE and naturally it's my baby. I wanted to keep the interior spotless but I'm not really sure what the best products for the job are. There's a lot of plastic on the interior but when I ArmorAll'd it there were streaks and it didn't really look all that nice. Also the inside of the windows. I heard not to use windex because it can mess up tinting so what should I use for the smudges and stuff.

Thanks, Ben

As far ascleaning windows goes, use Stoners.  i is generally available at car parts stores.  It contains no detergents or soaps that leaves streaks and does an amazing job of leaving streak free windows (providing you don't use a cloth or paper towel that does).   Stoners is, I think, a cvery dilute emulsion of a high vapor pressure hydrocarbon in water.  The hydrocarbon pulls grease into the rtowel and then flashes away.

I would just clean the plastic surfaces with a mild cleaner like 409 or Simple Green and forget the silicone coating.

For the interior plastic I use Liquid Ice. I applied it about a year and a half ago and my plastic still looks brand new. I just wipe off the dust with a micro fiber towel and that’s all. What is nice about the Liquid Ice is it protects the plastic from scrapes and scratches because it is a Wax. It also stops any fading. As for windows I use this spray that I get from Target called Sprayway Glass Cleaner. It has no chemical and goes on in a thick foam kind of like shaving cream and it only costs like $1.99 a can. Smells good too.

You might be better off with 303 for the plastic. It is similar to Armorall, but has better UV resistance and doesn't leave near as much shine. As for the windows, I have had excellent results with Cinch (made by Spic n' Span). I suspect it's similar to Stoners, and unlike Windex, it does not streak at all. BTW, I have an '07 XE with the light grey interior and not too long ago spilled some really strong coffee on the driver's seat. Turns out the material that Nissan uses on these truck seats are incredibly stain resistant and cleaned up completely with a liberal application of Tuff Stuff (which was what I had on hand at the time).

OK, I was just reading what paris1 was saying about cleaning the seat. The other day I put a paper bag with some empty cans in it on the passenger seat. When I took the bag out I noticed that it was wet. Must be some of the cans had something left in them. Anyway, now the seat is marked. Not sure I've heard of Tuff Stuff but does anyone have any recommendation as to what to use to clean it? Will regular cleaner work or should I get some kind of upholstery cleaner. Truck is only a few months old and I'd hate to have a permenant stain on the seat already. Thanks.

Nice thing about TuffStuff is it has a lot of foaming action and the brush head on the can is creat for gentle scrubbing. See if you can find it or some other type of aerosol upholstrty cleaner.

Armor All is garbage.

Stoner Invisible Glass for the windows and Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer for the dash and door panels.  Will always look like new.
