I have a 04 S/C and live in denver and our three grades are Reg. 85 octane, Plus 87 octane, and Prem. 91 octane. I run 87 and have had no problems, it doesn't knock or hesitate. Now I have never been daring enough to run regular in it. I had a '98 with a 4 banger and it never saw anything but 85 octane and never had a problem.
I read in the owners manual that not using high octane gas is hard on the anti-knock sensor, you can always use a lower grade and pour a bottle of 104 octane booster in it.
