Hi folks,

Will 4x4 rear leaf springs fit on a 1998 4x2?

I'm new here but I have had a my 98 4x2 king cab since new. She's a good pickup. Well, after years of good use the rear is sagging..the leaf springs are basically flat when the bed is empty and I do have a cap installed. I figured that replacing the old spring with 4x4 springs will be a cost effective route and also give a little height boost since the 4x4s seem to ride taller.

Whadayathink?..thanks all.

I'm not sure if they would or not. I would almost like to say that they would. My advice would be to find a junkyard or something, and see if they have what your looking for, measure them and go from there.

Also, probably not that much difference between the 2X2 & 4X4 springs. Most 4X4's have blocks/taller shackles/bigger tires that give it that appearance of riding taller.

Thanks for your responses....so I guess it could work if i bolt in the 4x4 springs but in the over arch setup. Will I have to change anything up front? I'll be hitting the junkyards this week. Maybe I can get a good pic before I tear it off the junk car.

More ideas and thoughts welcomed!

The 4x4 springs will not work as a bolt on thing you will have to do a lot of Fab work to make it work then you would need to figure out how your going to lift the front to match
