Used a product that worked really well.  Share it here.  (note: any "yeah right" posts will be deleted.  Critize in the back of your mind or on the regular forum.
I 'm keeping stickies for info, not a place for bickering.

To start it off, for those of you with the 02-04 body styles with the black fenders.  If you're wanting them to look brand new.  Try out  Turtle Wax F21.

couple questions, what products do you use for wax or paint protectant..i  have been washing my fronty at those do it yourself deals where you drop the quarters in, and every now and then i go through an auto-brushless car wash, but i just question how effective the waxing/protectant cycle for both, so i'd rather just do the do it yourself one and skip the waxing and sh*t then wax the car myself, have seen several products including the wax/protectant as you dry things and just wondering what any of y'all have used and what you recommend as well as don't recommend, i have an 01 fronty SE CC so the fender flares aren't black they are same color as my truck, but my father has an 02 KC XE so i'll share that info with him about the turtle wax

second question, i want to clean up my brakes some, hate that brake dust, am going to have my brakes redone soon, just had them inspected and while the fronts were needing replacement the rear drums were ok but just needed to be adjusted cause the shoes were barely touching getting that glazed effect, so they will need to be fixed to they touch right under braking. however my question is this...to clean up the rear drum and possibly paint it...i don't like how htey look under the 4 spoke wheels..i was considering going with silver like my truck or going with a deep black to try and hide them more...so what do you recommend to clean them, just regular brake cleaner and if any of y'all have painted your drums, what brand paint did you use that was heat resistant, this would also apply to the calipers up front as well since they are going to be getting hot..albeit the outside rim of the drum will be the hottest and i won't bother painting that most likely cause you wont' really see it anyway

For the Wax, I like the good ole Turtle wax paste.  Pain in the butt to apply and wipe off, but it gives off the best shine.  I've used the liquid stuff, but it just can't compare.  And the 2-in-1 carwash + wax is a joke. 

The F21 works great on the black trim, and it's a Vinyl Protectant only.  You can use it on the dash, just watch out for the windows.  It takes a while to get it off even using windex.  (Mostly smears)

For the brake drums, I would do this if at all possible.

1. Clean using Brakleen.  It will remove all the gim.

2a.  Get a wire wheel that can attach to a drill.  use it to clean any rust and foreign deposits off.

2b. Take the drum off and have it bead blasted.  This method is a little costly, but it will save you a lot of headache later on

3. If you wire wheeled it, clean off with Brakleen again, then wash the residue off.  Dry the drum throughly, use a hairdryer or blast it with air.  Just make sure to get all the water off.

4. Paint, Primer of course, use High temp spray paint. (use a clear coat if you go with a colored paint, none if flat black)

well this might be a long post but i know that everyone here prolly is a fan of trucks and we were discussing stacey david on trucks leaving the show, the two meatheads they hired to replace him or whatever can't hold a candle to him as far as entertainment value and ability to explain what he's doing while doing it during the show. stacey has his own website if anyone is interested, i did some looking into what the story was...his website and him do not give that much information, only that he left the show and that he will be hosting a new show coming soon. www.staceydavid.com if anyone is interested.

second note, i tried that new turtle wax ice today on my truck, and so far i kinda like the results, it gives a nice shine to teh truck from what i can tell, but to be honest my experience with waxing/polishing is extremely limited LOL as this is my first time ever actually waxing/polishing a vehicle of mine, i like to baby my fronty and decided that i would start doing that. i saw this stuff and did a little research on the net to see what i could find as far as how people liked it...of course some did...some didn't...each has their personal choice..as i know kcidmil doesn't like the liquid stuff..but to be honest this stuff apparently is ok to use on pretty much any exterior surface of the vehicle save glass, but that's obvious. the black pieces of plastic on the truck in diff areas, (i.e. the air dam, molding around the roofrack connection points, and the piece between the hood and the windshield) recieved some of the ICE and look good, it made them nice and shiny, kinda like an armor all look would get on your interior, but it made it look a lot better..as you know how they start to fade slightly from sun on them constantly. also...my truck has a nice shiny quality to it like it should after being detailed. my biggest praise for this stuff is that it comes with it's own sponge applicator and microfiber towel in the package. it went on VERY easy and dries relatively quickly, and i buffed it off relatively quickly, i did a second coat on the hood and used a microfiber mitt i had bought awhile back and have never used to buff it off. i don't know whether or not putting it on in the shade would have made a diff in the quality, but TW claims that you can put it on in direct sunlight which i did..because well there is a lack of shade in my driveway and the do it yourself wash station was pretty busy and i dind't want to hog the shade in the vacuum area since i wasn't using it, so i made my way the half mile back to my house. i would recommend this product so far. i'll let you know more as i use it more.
