I am looking to rasie up my 06.  I was wondering what people thought about Calmini's suspension lifts.  The one I was thinking about is the 2.5 inch block kit.  Does anyoine know the difference between that and the shackle kit?  Or which one might be better for highway type handling but still give me a bit of ground clearance

I would really appreciate some coments, I am new to the Nissan world.

I'm putting the 2.5" Calmini blocks in back, spacers in front and am on here to try and find out if anyone else has run into MAJOR nightmares.  I have had multiple calls in to tech support and have not gotten a call back.  I started on the front end 3 nights ago and feel like I'm ruining my truck.  Their instructions are vague and actually tell you to remove the center bolt on the top of the shock - I've now realized that this step is completely unnecessary and adds on another hour or so of wasted time.  The A-arm-to-spindle connection simply needs a "tap" once the nut is loosened, couldn't get them apart for anything, so I had to disconnect the top of the A-arm completely and loosen the bottom alignment/camber? bolts to let the suspension droop.....yada yada.  This is a nightmare. I've changed the rear end in a car, a clutch, brakes, etc, but for some reason I'm defeating by putting a little hockey puck looking thing on top of my suspension.  I also can't figure out how to properly align the vehicle.  The bottom of the tires go towards the center of the vehicle now and point in towards the front slightly.  Have a professional do it, actually, I really don't even see how a person that does this all day would be able to do it without some added parts.  Anyone else out there having this problem that has any tips by chance?

Its acuially a lot better to run the shackle kit than the block. I have a 06 with 4 in the front and 3 in the rear. The block makes your rear really stiff but rember you are messing with suspention so it will never drive like the same truck. when you add a block to the rear you are causing the leaf spring to bend in the middle, causing a lot of preasure over ur axel. The shackle kit lowers the leaf spring closer to the ground you will keep a little better control that way. it actuially only took me an hour to install the front leveling kit into my truck. also unless your a seasoned mech i would not recomend messing with the toe and camber, have that done by somone.

I did exactly what you want to do and it worked out fine. The front spacer took a bit over an hour with a little help from my buddy. The shackles are the way to go in the rear. I do recommend, however purchasing some slightly longer shocks in the near future once you have installed the shackles. Nothing major, but if you want to maximize suspension travel its the way to go. To tell you the truth, it would probably be easiest to do the shock swap at the same time as the shackles as you have to disconnect the shocks anyway. All in all, Calmini's stuff is just fine. If you find that the directions suck, google search some new ones. I can't remember if the kit comes with the camber adjustment bolts. If it doesn't, Calmini has em. You'll need em to properly align the front end. Good luck and enjoy. You'll like the results alot.

There don't seem to be very many choices for aftermarket shocks when the truck has a 2" lift. I did a bit of looking around and found really only one option. Rancho makes a 9000 series adjustable shock for both the front and rear of the D40 with about a 2" lift. Fronts arent needed with the lift but rears are recommended, at least I recommend them. If anyone else knows of any other options please let me know.
