I just bought a 2005 Nissan Crew Cab Frontier 4 x 4 SE, and recently sold my 2004 Nissan 350 Z and 1993 Nissan hard body truck.  (I only sold the Z because I have a new child and needed a back seat).

I want to say how great my old truck was.  After 14 years and 150,000 miles the truck never had a single problem other than regular maintenance like tires, shocks, brakes, tune-ups etc.  That truck totally sold me on Nissan.  Prior to that truck I had a Ford Mustang and it was a joke; it self-destructed at only 60,000 miles.  I'm totally sold on Nissan, and looking forward to another 15 years with this Frontier truck.

Also, I bought my 1993 truck back in 93 for $12,000 and sold it for $2,500 in 2007.  Depreciate $9,500 over 14 years and you can see what a great deal that was.

How many miles have you put on a Nissan truck?  :)

Congrats on your Frontier purchase. I've been a lifelong Ford man(to be honest, primarily performance cars) but I'm not one of those guys who believes there's only one brand of vehicle out there(well, maybe just two:-)).

My little '89 Nissan pickup helped drive in that point. I bought it from my mom in '00, who had bought it new. It's showing 160,000+ on it now, and has required minor maintenance so far(the suspension does need work though). I'll keep driving it until the wheels fall off(I alternate driving it and my new one for the time being). I had a '99 two door Explorer since new, was a fair weather vehicle and has 6,200 miles on it. I really liked it but I need a pickup so I just sold it to my girlfriend.  When I was looking at new trucks the past few months, I considered a Ranger. But as much as I wanted to stick with Ford, the closer I looked at them the more obvious it was the Frontier is the better quality truck.

Yeah, I thought about an F-150 truck.  It seems like it's the most popular truck out there and I don't think anyone could go wrong with it.  But in the end I stuck with Nissan.  I just didn't want a full-size truck and liked the looks and reliability of the Nissan Frontier better.  I also considered buying a Ford just to buy American, but at least the Frontier is built in the US.

I traded my 94 Hardbody (2wd 2.4l 4cyl) with 192,000 miles on it. Still ran strong, great little truck & definately sold me on Nissan for life. Now have a 2002 Frontier CrewCab LongBed (4wd 3.3l V6), had 78,000 when I purchased it 2 years ago.

Would love to trade up to a newer model, would like to have a little more power under foot, but whats with the small windows on the back doors of the crewcabs? That stationary wing window looks out of place, personally I would do without it.

Yeah I know what you mean about the wing window.  I expected it to open.  But, the back seat windows that do open go all the way down, which is rare for a back seat window.  I can tell you that my wife often rides in the back seat with the baby in the child seat and she is very comfortable; there is plenty of leg room in the crew cab version.

I've owned 3 Nissans, and am probably going to buy a fourth in a few months. They are nearly bulletproof and even I can't seem to tear them up, so I'm sold on 'em. I've currently got an '02 XE, with only 48K on the clock, but I'm looking into upgrading into the SE model, if I can find one at a righteous price.

Yes they sure do rock.  I just sold my 1995 Nissan Pickup to a friend.  It has 320k miles (yes that's 320).  This was the 4 cyl auto, 4x2.  2 timing chains (normal) and a rebuilt tranny were all I had to do over its life.  I'd like to see a Ford do that.  The interior is starting to fall apart a abit, but it runs strong.  Since I sold it to a friend, I will be able to keep tabs on it.  I will not be surprised when it hits 400k.  I have another friend with a 94 exactly the same thing, he has 250 on his, and its his main ride.  Just got my 2007 NISMO 4x4 King, sweet.  I know its the best truck out there in its class or any class.  That 4.0 six is really powerful.  Very happy with the Nissan product.
