Are you intending to flat tow the Type 2? You probably could do it for a short distance, but you really should use a dolly or trailer equiped with either surge brakes or electric brakes. Your Class 3 hitch will limit you to 5,000 lbs but at that weight you could put a Type 2 on a dolly and tow cross country and back without the Frontier breaking a sweat. If you go with a weight distributing hitch your Class 3 is good for 6,000 lbs, I believe.?. U-Haul's double axle car carrier tips the scales at 2000 lbs, a little over built really, plus a Type 2 equals 5,500 lbs. The benefit of the weight distribution hitch will allow you to not only bump up the combined weight but also level out the rearend of the truck... a big bonus, especially if you have an extra pancake motor and a transaxle hanging out in the bed.
Here's a little info on the WD Hitches... http://www.etrailer.com/faq_weightdistribution.aspx .
