I have an '07 XE manufactured in 11/06. When I close either door after parking it, I hear a rattle from somewhere under the truck which only occurs for one or two door closings. Seems like whatever is loose sort of "settles in" after you close the door a couple of times, which makes it tough to locate. Anyone else have this?

I have an '05 LE. Sometimes I get a squeak when I close a door as well. I believe I've tracked it down to the struts.

I have a 2007 se king cab that has that same rattling noise when I shut the doors also and it sounds like one of the exhaust heat shields to me. Or possibly the chain that holds your spare tire in place, it rests on top of the wheel

The rattling noise towards the back is the leaf springs.... at least it was on my truck. I basically took the whole damn rear off looking for the cause of the noise and found it was the various levels of the leaf spring rattling against each other that caused the noise. To fix it I took the springs off and took them apart. Once I had the springs separate I used a break pad adhesive (commonly used to adhere the back of the pad to the caliper in order to prevent rattling noises) and sprayed it on the springs so that once reassembled there was adhesive holding the levels together (don't forget to put the pads back in-between the springs... I did, that was messy!)
It's only been three days since I've done this but thus far the rattle is gone!!
As for the squeak up front... I haven't started on the struts yet but I figure it's likely just a matter of lubrication since its a squeak, not a full blown rattle
