I have a Frontier 2004 crew cab 4X4 and when I go over 90 on the freeway to pass, the engine kind of hesitates and loss accelaration. What could be the problem?

Perhaps your engine governs at that speed...

That's the only thing I can think of but who knows, it could be something else.

I'm leaning to the govenor myselft.  The 2.4 2wd trucks can do around 95 on stock setup... 115 if you play with it a little bit.  But I have yet to run into the gorvenor.

Try adding a K&N filter and see how it does... I went from doing 95 to 101 with just the filter change alone.

I guess that's the only thing I can actually think of... what else would cause an engine to cut out at a certain speed, not a certain RPM...?

The 4x4s aren't known for their top end.  My boss used to have a 00 4x4 V6... he said he was lucky if he could hit 85

Guess it's just the 4x4s.  My 4x2 can do 118.  Even though it says 125 on the speedo.  I will reach that eventually.  JWT has some nice goodies for my KA24DE

K&N ... what about exhaust.  You can try and pump all the air you want into the engine, but if doesn't have a way to flow out as fast it doesn't do you any good.
