Can someone tell me where I could get a manual or information on the removal and installation of brake pads? I want to save money and do it myself, and I believe that I can if I have the right information. Is there a website that I may could download that shows me the correct way to do this task?

..

msgoodsugga;

Welcome to the group!

... When asking for advice or technical information please list information about the vehcle in question. This could be added to your signature along with your city and State. A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. As the site grows with with more active members this can become a great option.

My '99 4x4 Frontier 3.3 KC Se with 40,000 miles has not yet received or needed any brake service. Replacing the pads on my '76 Jeep was easy and the brake shoes in the rear were only slightly more dificult.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

There was a time when some people got rich buy providing a better product at a lower price.Now they get rich by ripping us off and paying off the politicians. Can you spell DEREGULATION

Oh yeah, that would make more sense wouldn't it??  I have a 2005 Frontier, but after posting this, I remembered that my Frontier is under warranty for 3 years or 30,000 miles...so I am not going to touch it. Thank you so much for your quick reply. Take care and have a great weekend.

Read the fine print in your warranty, most brake related issues are only warranted for the first 12,000 miles. Replacing the brake pads are very easy. Buy a Haynes manual at your local autozone or pepboys. It's an easy do it yourself.....

Haynes manuals are not yet available for the 2005 and up frontiers. I just did a tire rotation last night for the 1st time on my 07 nismo and lubed the floating pins on the calipers while i was at it! I'm an aircraft mechanic and i do all my own vehicle maintenance, if you haven't found an answer to your question yet, PM me and i'll see if i can explain it to you! Are you mechanically inclined enough to do the job.... i.e. do you trust yourself to do the brakes?

 Also you could download the Nissan Manual from the "FSM" sticky at the top of this topic list! Problems / Technical....  FSM stands for (factory service manual)

Good luck!
