Gentlemen,

I just bought a new 2007 Nissan Frontier King Cab, V6, 4WD.

I am quite impressed with quality, fit, finish, engine performance.

However, there is a small, high pitched vibration at idle and on up to 2500rpms that makes its way into the cab - door, floor, steering wheel.

Does anyone know if this is characteristic of the engine?

Thanks

Underneath the hood on the steering mechanism close to the firewall you will see a cable that is rubbing against the steering column.  If you can't locate it take it in and they will fix it for free.  I had the same problem on my 05 and on my wifes 05 Xterra.

Thanks Brian, I'll give that a look!

I think I know the area you are talking about but to confirm:  Drivers side, place where steering shaft comes out of firewall and then goes into a universal joint covered by a rubber boot and then down to the rack and pinion mechanism??  Along the shaft near the firewall is where the cable is??

How far off am I??

Thanks,

RickM46
