I am looking to purchase a used Frontier but am unsure of what year/generation to buy. Either way I am looking for a Frontier with under 30,000 miles. I am looking for advice as to weather or not there were any real notable differences between the tow generations rather than just body style. I have noticed I could get a 2004 king cab off road XE for about $2,000 less a 2005 king cab SE. Would a 2005 be worth the extra money. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

from what i can see, i just bought a 2005 se crew cab. the 04 has a 3.3l v6 and the 05 a 4.0l v6. your bolt paterns are smaller in the 05 so aftermarket wheels are a bit harder to find. the major difference is body style and passanger comfort. the 05's are a mid size and the 04s are still just barley a mid sized truck. again from what i can tell after looking around and finally buying a 05.
