I'm looking for a lift kit and a turbo kit for my 2002 4x4 Crew Cab Frontier......it has the V6 (no supercharger) and it feels WAY underpowered.
Anyone have any ideas of how to reliably boost the power on these critters?
Anyone know of a good manufacturer or distributor that can provide a good 2-3" lift kit for the truck?
Please help
Thanx
Mike Lewis

You can purchase either a 2" or 3" Performance Accessories body lift kit for your year/model Frontier from Automotive Customizers, here is a link to their web site >>> http://www.4x4parts.com/ I have the 3" on my 01 Frontier.
The 170hp (non-supercharged) VG33E equiped engine is not known for muscel power. It is basicly a low compression engine, and due to nothing short of tweeking the fixed ECU system to some added bolt on engine and exhaust modifications you still may not reach the power gains you wish to achieve....
BTW: On the up side, from what I understand is that the 350 turbo top end can be fitted to the VG33E (V6 3.3L) block and test results have produced up to and over 500hp. However, this conversion is all well and fine for the street scene or pre-runner due to the turbo boost but it would basicly be worthless for a 4x4 off-road machine use.

You could do blocks in the back and spindels in the front. Also if its only 2" you could crank the torsions some.

sky jacker, and rancho also make suspension lifts for 4x4 frontiers 00-04, so check some of those out, as far as the turbo goes, u should look more towards a super charger, better gas milage and the throttle response is even through out, not just when u get to a certain RPM

If you go with a turbo you're not going to be satisfied on the rock crawling scene but you could have a little fun on the street, smoking some rice burners, even though you don't have some mugenized vehicle. If I were you I'd go with the same super charger Herk has, third gen eaton. Like Herk said, the turbos are all good for pre-running and street but not very ideal for the 4x4 industry. As far as a lift goes, we all have our own ideas of what is correct for the money spent so that would have to be up to you. Just do your homework and you shouldn't end up with junk.

You guys and your 4x4 world...
I'm dropping mine as soon as I'm out of this frozen state. Then I'll get a Titan later on and jack that sucker up. Unless they don't put a diesel in it. In that case I might have to go with the new Dodge Mega Cab 2500

I'm not into rock climbing, off roading, and all the other 4wd stuff....the only reason I even have 4wd is for the occasional 10" of snow we get here in SW Missouri.....what I'm looking for is additional torque and horsepower for towing, etc. The lift kit would be for looks only.
Where can I find the turbo kit or supercharger? Any company names, websites, etc that offer a bolt on turbo or supercharger kit? Or am I better off trading it for a Z71 Chevy or something?

Honestly, I'd go for a Titan over a Z71 Chevy. They have lift kits, Intakes, Headers (no forced induction yet) but with that 5.6, who needs it.

But I don't have the funding to be looking at anything fancy like that.....I was thinking Z71 like in the 2000-2003 model range......can get into those for under 25K.....and there are a ton of parts available for the small block chevy motors.
Ideally, I would like to keep the Frontier...it's a nice truck, rides nice for a 4x4, and looks cool, but I just need more power.....

Budget... don't you always wish you were a millionaire?
You could get into a XE extended cab for that much. But not a crew cab. Unless you went at the end of the year, and the dealers are dying to get rid of stuff. You can easily talk them down $5000 at that time. That's how I got my Highlander.
If I remember right, you have the VG33E. Close to the VG30E motor in my Maxima. They offer 2 stages of cams... but that might not be the route you need.
A supercharger would be your best bet. Of course not the model of Eaton they put on the frontiers to begin with. (such a dissapointment) I have the 2.4 (KA24DE) motor, so I can't help you too much.
