I recently bought a used Frontier through a dealership, and found the previous owner's contact info. I am going to call her and ask her about the truck, to see if there were any major probs, etc.

Can anyone suggest some good questions to ask the previous owner? Serious questions, please!

You might want to find out if that is even legal. If it is, then I would suggest asking if it has ever been in an accident that wasn't reported to insurance.

yes definitely look into the legal aspect of it...although i doubt it crosses any lines in that department (insert another disclaimer here that I am not a lawyer, nor play one on TV)....if the previous owner kept maint records on it and wouldnt' mind allowing you access to them, then that would be semi helpful...not to sound pessimistic cause it might be a longshot..welcome

Thanks for the replies, and I have in fact played a lawyer on TV before... just as an extra though! heh heh
I should probably explain the matter a little better. After I purchased the truck, I found the previous owner's info in the glove compartment. Original purchase receipts/paperwork, etc. Her contact info is on some of those papers, so its not like I tracked her down using the registration, etc.
I guess the dealership should have removed all the that, but hey, not my fault they didn't.
As far as legalities are concerned, I can't think it would be illegal to simply call a person on the phone. Some people might think it unethical, but last I knew, phone calls were legal in America. (Unless they are threatening or harassing in any manner, which obviously, they won't be)
I just want to know the background of the truck, such as any unreported accidents, work on the vehicle, etc. And if you guys could think of anything else to ask, I would appreciate it.
