Has anyone here tried the AEM intake?  That is what I am leaning towards.  Wondering if anyone has any input on it.

To be honest, I never like AEM to begin with, mainly because I cannot stand Hondas.  And they seemed to deal with nothing but the POS.

But since they released their Dry Flow filter, and have cured the oiled over MAF problem, they've come a long way in my book.  Probably be the first system I would go with, or at least the second right behind Volant.

I looked at the Volant - not super close - isn't it oiled?

Yes it is, but the box design and air scoop is infinitely superior to using either a TRUE CAI (which puts the filter outside the engine bay) or the the usual setups which just use a heat shroud.

The box completely closes it off, and their scoops grab from the front of the vehicle, not the fender well.

Though I must point out, the Volant Box only becomes surperior while sitting still.  When driving down the highway around 45 MPH, the Temperature in the engine bay is only a few degrees off from the ambient temp.  Which why I stay away from the CAI that stick into fenderwells.  They don't have as much air flow as the engine bay would.  The scoop Volant uses also acts as a RAM scoop.

correct me if i'm wrong kcidmil, but I wasn't aware of that scoop was available on all of the volant setups, i.e. our application, i thought it was available for the titan tho... i also have been interested in seeing how well the  AEM DRYFLOW filter works after reading the independent test results from SwRI, it's flow and filtration ability seem superior to other high flow systems out there (which the latter being more important in my opinion) in that respect as I mentioned in another post FRAM has their BOOST intake with what they are also calling a DRYFLOW (maybe same filters) filter which might cost less than the AEM, don't know haven't done any price comparisons
