Inside the fuel lid door, is there supposed to be some type of insert (plastic or otherwise) that the gas cap, when removed, attaches to? My 90 Pathfinder had one, but my 02 CC XE doesn't have anything. When pumping gas, the gas cap just hangs down by its plastic "leash". Currently, inside the door is just a metal framework, which looks like something might have been there at one time...

Also, I'm wondering if I should get a locking gas cap. Just have a stock one now, without a locking fuel door.

MrJodie;

... My '99 is a se model and does have the little cap holder. I think getting a locking cap is a good idea. If I didn't have the holder I'd put the cap in the seat so I wouldn't lose it.

Have a good one,    and CUL.. Don S..
