So, I have been hearing a clicking noise from beneath the
left side of the steering well which I guess is coming from
at or near the fuse panel, now my alarm system has started
activating randomly by itself and the doors wont lock using
the key fob. What am I looking at here?

Julie,
Probly Best to take it to the Nissan Service Dept. and
let them Fix it.

It's a 2000, so dealership repairs would not be cost
effective. Thanks anyway for the reply.

Julie,
Maybe, Maybe Not, When it come's to Repair's, it's a
Gamble no matter how you go about it.
Electrical Repair's can get very complicated and Someone
going @ it without Experience and Knowledge can make
thing's Worse in Short Order, makeing the Repair even
more Costly to Repair.
IMO it'll take someone Experienced with Nissan Gen 1
electrical to sort out what the problem is and get it
repaired or @ least give you an estimate.
If You have enough Electrical Diagnosis Experience With
Auto Electric's, then you might Google and see if there
is something on UTube or WWW that might help You diagnose
where to start in the Diagnosis, and What electrical
Tool's you'll need to do it with.
Like I said though, it's Really Easy to Damage the
Electrical Component's and Then More Problem's to
Diagnose and Repair.

Hello,
Maybe I am a Johnny come lately, but I just had that same
issue.
I had to replace the: "99-01 Nissan Frontier Locking Smart
Entrance Module OEM 28595-3S510" Mine got fried when
trying to jump start my Fronty battery with one of those
battery packs/jumper.... Alarm wouldn't stop blaring, and the keys on the fob would
not work either. So I disconnected the above sensor, and had to do the
locking/unlocking the old fashion way, with a key.
And it is not that difficult to replace. It seats just below the
in cabin fuse box, by the side wall. It is necessary to remove
the plastic almost triangular part (2 or 3 screws, 10mm/phillips head
combo).It took no time at all.
Again, sorry if i am too late, but maybe it helps someone
else with this problem.
