thanks for the pics..  thats what I had w/ my 04, which had 39,000 miles and went through 3 transmissions!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Piece of Sh11, not to mention that wonderful snapping crack noise.  Dealer bought the truck back in full and gave me an 07 frontier XE 5speed.... what a difference, this truck is COMPLETELY different than the previous model.  DOesn't share ANYTHING in common... entirely different animal.  A better animal.

Sorry to hear that you had a tough time. I have 50k miles on my '04 and I love it. Not a single problem except this squeak. You didn't specify if you had an automatic or manual '04. Mine is automatic.

Good to hear that Nissan made good on your problem. Trying to find decent customer service these days is impossible.

The heavy grease stopped the noise. I don't know how long it will last before I have to lube it up again. I'll keep everyone posted.
