I just bought an 06 CC LE with the 2 6" subs in the back and they sound pretty sweet if you ask me.

Agreed, as far as the 2 6" subs go, they do sound good. However my previous truck had 2 x 10" subs in it, so it's hard to go back to less than that.

the $800+ for the rf system is a ripoff. i can build a better system for less. i am glad my LE didnt have it. break down what i can do. deck(already had it)kenwood $200 box i can build myself $50-60 at best. sub(veries) $100-150. amp $200 new speakers all the way around to match the deck $150 or less. so thats what at most $750. i could hit ebay or a clearance sale and get stuff even cheaper or go with some lesser known makers that make good stuff and probably knock that price down to $600. and pocket the other $200 for an exhaust later down the road.

I bought the same CC 06 with the upgraded Fosgate setup. Not worth $850.00. The sub box really don't kick, espeacially with the 6 other speaker going on the truck. You can even hear the bass from the subs. But the head unit is quite remarkable. Very impressed. Play mp3 and in some radio station here in Cali. you get the name displayed, song and artist playing. What I did is replaced the stock sub box with 2 6.5" SAS bazooka tubes with a Memphis 500 mono amp and this baby rocks. Definitely recommend this setup. They fit perfectly snugg underneith the rear seats. Bass sounds amazing even with the amp at alittle past half way. |

Great choice of amp I used the previous model design to run my 4 12" M-Class subs. Ran them with no problem.

On ebay you can find some great clearance speakers and amps from the trading circuit. The trading circuit is circuit citys clearance store. I picked up some speakers for my daughters car for under $100 for all four. One set is component and they are all Infinity.

SO... here are the PICs of the SuperCrewSound box I ordered. It fits
perfectly. Installed in the box is a Boston Acoustics G110-44, driven
by an Kicker IX-402 amp under the driver's seat.
The sound is great, although I still have to fiddle with the gain on
the amp. The cab is smaller and therefore the current gain settings are
a little overpowering and cause distortion.
Overall this is a great solution as all I gave up was the right hand storage tray.
Fits great.....
Snuggly under the seat....
And with the Boston Acoustics G110 installed...

I have the Rockford Fosgate upgrade and find the bass to be pretty weak. I
do however lover the way the enclosure looks. Anyone know if I could simple
replace the speakers with more powerful subwoofers? Or perhaps fit 8
inchers into the current enclosure holes?

I opened up the Rockford Fosgate enclosure to see what was insider. I don't believe you could fit anything larger than the 6" subs that are in there. It's quite a compact design. I considered replacing the GECC subs that were in that box, with two JLAudio 6" subs, but the difference would have been minimal. In order to go any bigger than 6's you need to replace that enclosure.
