Good news guys, got the truck put back together annnnnnnd all is well!!
think i need to adjust the timing just a hair but no knocking or brought
idle or anything!! she's running like a top. Thanks for all the help guys
hope i could answer some y'all head scratches as well from all of this.
but since i got somebody here.. is there a special terminal i need for my
positive post for my battery?? i won't stay connected! have a good one!!

Probably about time to replace the Positive Clamp.  They don't cost very much @ O'rielly's or Advance.

You could do like Lakota said,, or you could put something between the post and clamp to take up the space so that you can tighten the clamp.  You could take a penny and beat it flat enough with a hammer, then tap it over a bar to get the curve, to fit between the clamp and terminal.

Glad that you didn't have any valve damage.  You dodged a bullet.  I've had a Nissan Truck since '93,, and they've been good to me so far.
