I would call 1-800NISSAN1 and tell them you have serious steering defect and the dealer won't fix it. You can email them too. www.nissanusa.com

I send the about 4 or 5 emails a day asking when they are going to fix it.. No reply yet

I have just bought an '06 Frontier LE Crew Cab and noticed the wobbly steering wheel and when I hit a bump the steering wheel jerks around.  I am guessing that is the problem everyone is concerned with?  I was thinking it was the wind but there was none and then when I hit the bump, I was like 'oh boy'.  The steering feels much looser than my wifes '06 Murano but I guess you are talking 2 different classes of vehicles.

My '01 Dakotas steering what loose but not this loose.  How can I tell if the power steering goes out?  I'm guessing I would know.  What symptoms should I look for?

Thanks,
Greg

They fixed it for now, but it is with the same low-bidder part. The service manager told me it could break again at anytime....-- Until they get a better vendor for the part

Sorry Mike.  I just quickly skimmed over the first page.  I guess I knew what the symptons were - just haven't had it hard to steer.  Its been loose since I've had it.  Only have 100+ miles on it.  I can live with it I think but time will tell.  I am definitely going to have them look at here and see what they say.

The dealer is Carriage Nissan in Georgia (770) 532-6335. The dealer did fix mine for free. If your truck is under warranty they have to fix it for free. If they don't I would to your local news media outlet and tell them that Nissan is not fixing your unsafe NEW vehicle, and call a lawyer. I have gotten pretty far in the past by threatning to go to my local news. Nissan does not want any bad publicity. As soon as this problem gets out, you can bet your ass that they will take care of it before it reaks in the news.

I just sent emails to 2 of my local news channels Consumer Call For Action departments. I detailed the problems I was having and the concerns I was having about Nissan's's lack of concern for it's customers safety.. I will keep everyone posted..

One of my local news channels replied to my email, and they are calling around to Nissan for more info on the problem...
