Amen!!!! And thats all I have to say about that. If anyone you know is looking to buy a Taco, show them that. F@*k the nonsense, thats pretty much how it is. Good call dude, ditto from me. Except for the Taco motor thing. I think think motor sounds like crap. Really fan-ish not really motor ish. Reliable yes. Cool, no...

I hear what you are saying. To refine my statement, the taco motor really
does run noticeably smoother. What I found disappointing was that Toyta's
usual tactic of detuneing and underrating their engines in favour of reliability
seems to have backfired here as it doesn't get any better mileage for having
the same displacement but much less hp. Shoddy. I'll stick to my fronty
thanks! thanks for coming out toyota.....ha

Fronty or Toy Tac, the 64 dollar question?  Had a 97 toy tac, 101k on the clock V6/5sp, 4wd.  Great little truck until I totaled it day before xmax.  Looked to replace it.  Looked at new Toy Tac's first, got my eyes opened wide.  One dealer came down a couple of hundred off sticker,  another offered 5 hundred  over invoice for a truck that stickered for over 28K,  but added dealer hold back, advertiseing and other hidden costs into the price.  The best that was offered was a 08 extra cab 4 cyl, 5sp, pw,pl, 4wd,  23,111 plus tags tax and other costs,  Thought maybe used, if you can find them,  17 to 19k for an 04, SR5, I think not.  On a whim stopped at Mark Arbuckle Nissan in Indiana Pa to check out the Fronty.   Another eye opening experience, only this time it was the good kind.  Looks, comfort, ride, options standard and otherwise, What is Toyota thinking? The Deal, first and only offer, 08 Fronty, SE, KC, 4wd.   MSRP $24,845 minus $2500 Rebate, plus $1545 dealer discount.  Total $20,800. Came home checked Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book, made some inquires about the dealership.  Next day I had my new Fronty.  Don't know if I could have made any better deal elsewhere.  This dealer is close to home and the nearest other dealers are one and a half hours away minimum.

gotcha. much clearer. I am also looking for more info on the axle in my
truck. Both versions are wierd. The d44 and the c200 are seemingly unique
in this application. I can't disagree with the cocky when drunk assessment.
Fact is, we are cocky most of the time when sober too. It tends to be the
nature of the breed. Look at the job description, who wouldn't be? Can't
think of a btter job. We are alsoi rated every year as the top most trusted
and sexiest in every poll I have ever read. Beswides all that, it does take a
special person to do the work. Becomes a lifestyle more than a job. Seeing
as how you are a power hound, what are your thoughts on longevity vs.
artificial aspiration? All comments would be appreciated, though this may
not be the proper forum.
