Still no joy. As long as I leave the 4wd selector switch in 2hi the 4wd indicator light stayed on, (with the front wheels an trans case icons blinking) an the 4wd warning light stayed off. Tried driving forward and backward, an rolling forward and back with the clutch in. When I change the 4wd selector switch to 4h or 2lo the indicator went out an the 4wd warning light came back on. Does this sound like its not a fuse or connection in the engine compartment, an I need to be looking at the trans case?

It sounds like either the selector switch or the actuator.
Your Nissan dealer should be able to retrieve a DTC to
determine the cause.
