I wouldn't be driving around in 4WD on dry roads, good way to destroy a transfer or pop a front axle out of the diff. I can't think of any reason why it would shift any different in 2 or 4WD?????!!!!!

O.K. guys,

We seem to have about the same problem with "newer" trucks but with different trans.  You guys have trouble with your 1st shift of the day, mine is much better if I hold the clutch in for the count of " say 3".

Could we be having a slave cylinder problem?

Is it possible our issues are due to the clutch not fully disengaging or being slow to disengage due to a fluid damper in the clutch line?  It seems like a typical item people remove from their clutch system (in many makes/models) to give a more connected feel.  Also, some say with the damper removed they no longer have issues with difficult/slow shifting.  I’m not certain that there is one in the clutch line but after bleeding mine today I believe I saw one.  My manual did not list one being in the line either.

dewyboy, I am sure that you are correct with the clutch not
fully disengaging or being slow to disengage, the question
is why???? Is it lack of lube on the input shaft, damper(if
equipped), slave or master cyl., and then again, it could
be the trans fluid is too slippery not allowing the blocker
rings to stop the gears for proper engagement!!!!?????

Hi Folks

the dealer changed my trans fluid, bang i started getting rough shifting to 2 nd gear

the remedy is to be nice to your trans, warm up the fluid before you jam it in

i still get it every morning, however i started to take my time to shift

oooooooorrrrr it is geting cold it was 11 degrees this morning that means

taking more time to warm up the car, my gas milage went out the window

(GAS TANK) i am only getting around 280 miles to full tank i used to get 350

Mery Christmas everyone

Has anyone tried going to standard 90wt gear lube in the trans?

Actually I'm leaning more toward the problem being the master or slave cylinder not being properly bled.
