after installing an aftermarket radio in my 2005 nissan frontier i noticed the climate control lights and the shifter indicater lights not working. i dont drive at night often so they may have been out before the new stereo. any possible fixes i checked the wiring and conections even put the old unit back in to see if it some how went through it to complete the circuit.

ok thanks for your input. im not doubting your master tech
skills on bulb changing. but the back of the controls for
the ac and heater are sealed with a few screws and im just
wondering if its possible that one of those bulbs is blown
causeing the circuit for the rest of the lights to short.

I can't remember the configuration or serviceability of every single bulb and control unit. (if I could I would have become a brain surgeon instead of a technician). My point is, if you have the control unit out and don't see any bulbs readily assessable, then it is possible they are not serviceable, and the whole unit needs to be replaced. Maybe your local dealer will be able to assist you. And no, they are not Christmas tree lites, if one goes out it doesn't cause the others to go out. In some very rare cases the dimmer for the dash lites can create momentary pauses in illuminating certain bulbs. I have only seen this on Titan heater controls. < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">

update!!!!
went to dealer. after a couple hours of them looking it
over they replaced the taillight fuse which is on the same
circuit as the center console lights. 2 days later they
went out again. so i went back they said the radio may be
the problem so they disconnected it. its been a week and no
problem yet. but i have no radio. the radio works fine at
all times im not an expert but i dont see how the radio is
causing the problem. i would leave the factory radio in but
im on the third nissan p.o.s. headunit and the cd player
keeps going out.
