I'll have to check to make sure it is a Nissan air filter...other than that? I will take time this weekend to locate grounds and clean them...and just for grins and giggles, I'll replace this air filter if it is not a Nissan filter...then I guess I'll wait to see what the spring brings...warmer weather and great gas mileage? For some reason or other, I don't think so. Oh...by the way...I do have my tires at approx 35 lbs. Seems a little bumpy, but. Should they always be at 35?

I am grateful for all who responded. Thank you for your time and expertise. Enjoy the cold weather. Talk to you in the spring.

Bryon

p.s. I'll have a few more questions come spring...I want to tow my 17' Bass Tracker...see you then and thanks again.

I also own a '07 Frontier I bought new. 4.0 liter extended cab(?) with a standard transmission. I have around 23K on it now and just checked my mileage and I'm getting just a tick under 18 MPG. That's mostly commuting back and forth to work which is a combination of highway and rural roads. I was hoping for better but I think that's going to be about it.

mine is an 07 crew cab 4x4 automatic that I bought used...approx 30,000 miles showing on the clock... checked it again since my last post and got 17 mpg..a combination of highway and local...I don't know...from what everyone is telling me I should do a bit better, but I'm waiting now for spring to take the advice of some of the others that answered me and go over things under the hood...make sure I have good Nissan filters...Nissan fluids and clean all the connections...make sure my tire pressure is same all the way around and give it a try again...I am not one that is hard on the pedal...consider myself a rather "pokey" driver, if you will...I don't jump off the line quickly at red lights...I accelerate slowly etc etc...so we shall see...thanks for the post. Enjoy your truck        Bryon in PA

I had posted I have an '07 but it was a typo, it's an '08. But what I'm getting now has been about what I've gotten all along. Because of the tire pressure sensors my tires stay inflated to 35psi cold so I know those are all the same. I don't see me getting what others have said they've gotten. Wish I did though!

Do the fuel comanies have a diffrent blend of fuel for winter in the north I`ve heard that in the past or is that long gone. Now people having to have there fuel system clean at under 60,000 miles I might change gas stations. I have seen very liitle change with the 2 degree bump my truck is stock a friends fronty wth the bump i was able to keep up with him fine the only place were he beat me is 1-3 have a 1/2 lenghth than pulled up to his front fender. My buddy still swears by it when it come to towing. My truck is an EC 2.93 gear with 265/75/16 tires his was a cc with 265/70/16 tires and a 3.13 gear. We both were close to mpgs unless my buddys use his right foot alot he say a drop in around the 13-15 range
