it senses the amount of oxygen levels in the exhaust.  The ECU uses this information to determine if the engine is running lean or rich.

Sounds to me like the dealers are on the hunt for what exactly is wrong with your truck as well.  Feel lucky it's under warranty.  If I had to pay for a CAT, and turned out it was just a bad 02 sensor, i would knock the technician across the shop.

Yes, I am glad too, b/c I hear the CATs are expensive.  I'm just tired of having to go to the dealership every weekend!

Just got my truck back yesterday from the dealership and coming home today the SES light came back on.  I don't understand why it keeps coming on.  What could be the problem now?

Have you checked to see what the code is?

No, I will probably go tonight to AutoZone.  I called the dealership they told me to bring it in on Tuesday and they will get me a rental car.

Hey guys, just had my SES light come on, took to AZ and they said that they can't diagnose the SES light, just check engine. I was wondering what the best procedure is to test it to figure it out, without paying massive dealer fees (x-mas coming up, I'm broke!)

Thanks,
D

Got my truck back yesterday and they had to replace another CAT, thank goodness this is under warranty.  Hopefully this will do the trick and I won't have any more issues. Knock on Wood!!!
