mine has been quite quite reliable.
after a near catastrophic front end smash even, the thing was still solid.
though i have the 00 frontier not the 05.

103000 miles and this is her first teardown for maintenance, other than brakes.

as far as brake squealing goes.

any car will squeal a little.

but, one thing i do when changing pads/rotors is i  "heat-cycle" the pads.

i dont remember the exact way to do it, since i only have to do this like 2x per vehicle.

but with "heat cycling" what you do is a certain braking technique to get the pads to MATE to the rotors.

look it up, dont take these words exactly.

you do something like:  with brand new pads.   get out on a local street, get up to 15mph, brake moderately hard to a complete stop.   immediately get up to 20-25mph and do the same....do this 3 or 4 times.  get them good and hot and stop kinda hard.  you dont want to overheat them but u wanna get them hot and stop the car hard a few times.

then park it.   let it sit a couple hours.   should be golden.

but look this technique up!!! i dont remember how its done.
