Only problem I've heard with Banks is that the baffling material in the muffler starts to fall apart and creates a rattling sound like a pepper shaker.  So he got so fed up that he swapped out the muffler for a flowmaster.

I have the nismo catback and its the best exhaust I've seen, but it cost $.  Good choice with the Volant, I have that too.  Install on '05 is easy cause Volant used that to design the intake.  Install on late '05+ are somewhat tricky with the horn relocation and holes in airbox do no line up perfectly, but easy fixes for these things.

Another option on the exhaust would be to just swap out the muffler and the crimped y-pipe.  The stock pipes are mandrel bent and pretty decent for a stock exhaust.

The good thing about the banks mufflers is that they offer a life time warranty. Volant does too, the top cover of the intake was getting really screwed up and they over nighted a new top. Amazing service from both companies.

Havent noticed the rattling yet and have had it for 15K miles. The muffler has taken a beating this winter season, plenty of dents from rocks and snow burms when off roading.

Bigriver, how is the Titan swap working? i am looking to do that later on. Looking for more travel, the Total Chaos and Radflo coil overs improved wheel travel and articulation, but looking for more. was it all bolt on? i imagine some cuts and welds needed to be done?

Love it.  Almost doubles wheel travel and 100% bolt on.  If you are going to spend the money, I would recommend PRG UCA and PRG-valved titan 2.5" sway-a-ways, much much better than radflos.  All the Titan guys are getting sway-a-ways and many frontiers are switching over.  Since the saws have a longer body, less preload to get significant lift.  Contact Greg at Prgproducts.com.  Also have PRG-adapted saws in the rear too.  Greg is friggin amazing with modifying suspension stuff.  Oh yeah, since you are 4wd, Greg can also hook you up with extended half shafts that bolt in to your front diff.  His titan swap kit is not listed on his website so need to give him a call.

Hey guys, I see that you both have the Volant system. Im looking to put on a CAI and this seems like a good buy.  This doesnt void the factory warranty in any way shape or form?  Thanks

whether it voids the warranty or not differs by each dealer and how they interpret the warranty language.  in most cases they will need to prove that the intake caused the problem which is difficult, but if its caked in mud, then you might have a problem.  the only instance where I heard the CAI voids the engine warranty is from the dealer I use and install of the Nismo CAI (which is pretty hilarioius).  So because the Nismo CAI is an "R-Tune" product designed for racing application, they interpret the language in the warranty book which voids the warranty for "any racing whatsoever".  Even if the dealer did the install, they said it would void the engine warranty because of the R-Tune designation, kind of dumb but that's what they said.

IMO, the volant is the best intake, hands down.

So basically just keep the stock air box system and all of the pieces from it/nuts bolts and be able to install that back into the VQ40 incase you need to take the truck back to the dealer.

I was looking at all the systems and the Volant seems like the best, thanks for the help.

Oh yeah, I was checking out other bolt-on modifications and ran across
http://www.wrptechnology.com/

Has anyone used their products, they look like high quality material, was just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with these products, spacers/pulleys.  Looks like a good way to free up some power.
