I figured it out...one last question: how can I tell if the timing is off one tooth?  The truck seems a little down on power, but it runs smoothly.  I am not sure if it is down on power because I have been driving my Police Interceptor around town lately.

The timing belt should be changed at 105k miles.  Mine did squeal on startup, but that was coming from the accessory drive belts.  I wasn't going to change the accs. belts and leave the timing belt.  Removing the accs. belts is half the job.  I only had 99k on the truck.

Please tell me you are using a manual for this repair and not flying by the seat of your pants. have you checked the timing using a light?

Please tell us you are kidding!

Haynes Manuals are only $20

Worth the investment.
