I have a 2005 Frontier Nismo, V6 with a very similar issue.  Two days ago I turned on the truck, moved the switch to position 2 and bupkiss.  I have 1, 3 & 4.  I immediately thought it was the actual switch so I pulld the dash off surrounding the stereo and removed the switch.  I took it apart and cleaned it, but that didnt work.  I called Nissan and he said that I have to replace the whole three switch cluster at $180 and that might not be even it.  He said that there is a circuit board under the hood that it could be.  Also, when I plugged everything back together, the airbag idiot light in the center of my speedo cluster is blinking.  Probably because I disconnected the light that tells you if the passenger seat airbag is on or off.  I guess I will deal with that after I fix the fan speed (unless someone knows how to clear that too).
Can anyone take a picture of the resister and/or maybe give me the part number for it?

Ok.  I went nosing around underneath the dash behind the glove box and found a wiring harness that led to a white plug.  Two course thread screws holding in the card.  I took it out and it looks like a black credit card.  Mine had condensation on it that almost immediately evaporated (Florida humidity I guess).  I turned on the truck with out it in and nothing blew.  I wiped it off and put it back in.  The original problem came back, but I'm hoping that I'm close.  I copied the PN and I will go hunting tomorrow.  I would still like to hear from anyone that has a thought though.
Thank you !

You got it.Blower resister-#27150-5Z000=$56.97
There is also a Nissan technical bulletin- NTB10-055 that
says to install a service kit at the cowl opening to
prevent water intrusion and replace the blower motor. It
only took them 5 yrs to figure this one out!!!!!!

That fixed it.  Thank you guys !! I really appreciate your help.  I even got the SM to print out the bulletin for me.  They suggested if the card had condensation, to replace the blower motor.

I have been fighting with Nissan for months now about the recall on the radiator.  Mine failed and caused me to have to replace all the soft parts of the transmission, but Nissan would not help me at all because I was over the extension.  Very disapointing !!!

I would like to find the service manual I could download.
