The short bed with bed extender should probably do the job for my needs.  It's going to be more of a daily rider then hauler so the short bed will likely be the way to go.  At first I thought that if I'm going to get a truck why not just get the biggest bang for the buck by getting a long bed, but it does have it's drawbacks.  However I will reserve final judgement until I get a good long test ride.  Hopefully soon.

Thanks guys.

Have a Long Bed CC and it the turn radius is an issue.  Like DrKwan it's an acceptable compromise for me though.  The truck had PLENTY of power, comfortable handling, long bed looks much better than the short.  About the F-150 Comparison...I drove a 98 Nissan for almost 9 years with zero problems.  For that reason I bought another and love it.  My bet is the Nissan will long outlast the F-150 and have a better resale.  I buy trucks to last 10+ years.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the short bed is the way to go.  Better maneuvering in tight places and by adding a bed extender I think it will be able to haul pretty much whatever I need hauled (and I guess if not I can always get a basic trailer).

Question though, I noticed a slight hesitation in the one truck I test road when starting off from a stop.  Once it gets going it drives very nice but when starting out there was this slight hesitation.  A little unnerving.  Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

No hesitation with my long bed.

Short bed frontier looks ugly.(PERIOD) Long bed gives it a better proportion.
