I'm compiling a list of speakers that will fit the 2005+ Frontiers without modification. If you add a speaker, please include a link.

I just put Infinity Reference 6 x9's in the front doors without any modification. For the longest time everyone was telling me that the doors took a 6.5" so I purchased the component speakers and ended up taking them back when I discovered that the stocks were 6 x 9's. Now I am running an Eclipse head unit with the Infinitys in the front door running off a Kenwood 25th anniversary edition amplifier, the rear speakers are running off the deck and I have a Orion 10" dual voice sub in a downfire box behind the passenger seat running off the rear two channels. Boy does it sound sweet!!!!! I will post pictures when I get a chance.

I know that I couldn't have been the only one looking for this. So to help my fellow frontiers I have created a picture labling the wires. Hopefully someone can use this.

Can I assume the harness for the factory radio in a 4 and 6 speaker setup are identical? Could I add tweeters to a 4-speaker system and wire them into the harness at the correct positions?
I assume I have to wait until my warranty is up to do this though.
Thanks,
Ken

Does anyone know if this is the same for the 04 Frontier?

On my 05 XE the wiring is already in the dash for the tweeters, you will have to dig for it. The drivers side is pretty easy just put your hand in the hole and feel around for a plug with 2 wires, the passenger side I had to take the glove box out to find it but it is there and kinda hard to find. I put a set of infinity tweeters in with no problem and they sound great.

Is there anywhere in the Seattle area where I can upgrade the speakers on my 2008 4 door Frontier with out modifications.
I also have a standard single CD Factory unit in the dash and to be honest the sound is not the best. Would speakers cure this or would I have to also upgrade the stereo?

i am in the process of upgrading the sound system in my '10 frontier crew cab which should be the same setup as yours. from what i have researched, all the factory systems are designed and produced by fosgate, not just the premium factory equipment, so you have some decent equipment right out the box as far as factory stuff goes. i have replaced my head unit with the latest alpine all-in-one and it made a world of difference. my next mod will be to add a sub before i decide if i will upgrade door speakers (which i probably will), but i would start with the head unit.
