There is no way you're not going to feel a 5000# camper, and going over the rockies is going to be a slow and gas-guzzling experience. Get used to the right-hand lane when you have an option, and make sure you pull over frequently to be courteous to the people stuck behind you when you don't.
That being said, safety-wise you should be fine. I have a 5500# travel trailer I go a lot of places with. I wouldn't do the rockies, though, for the reasons i mentioned above.
Even with a Titan or an F250 diesel you're still gonna feel it... not as much perhaps, but whenever the towed vehicle is of significant weight compared to the towing vehicle, physics will rear its ugly head and the the performance/ handling characteristics will change.
Make sure your brake controller and trailer brakes are in good working order, too... the long descent is a bad time to find out there's something wrong.
