I have a 2006 4x2 LE and get about 13mpg in the winter and about 15 in the summer with mostly around town driving. I do have a tow package and was wondering if they changed the differential gearing with the tow package. I was disappointed to a degree with this mileage as it was not what I expected, but still happy with the vehicle.

I have an 05 crew cab, 6 speed and get about 19-20 in town and 21-23 on te highway. It drops about 1.5 mpf in the winter (I do not warm my truck up - jump in and go). I get about 2 mpg +/- better on Shell regular than all other gas types. My Murano is gets better on Shell as well.

I bought a 2007 crew cab Nismo two months ago, 1400 miles on it right
now. I got 18.6 average on the first few tanks with 87 octane. I tried
89 octane and averaged 19.1 city/highway. This is without any mods, so
It will only get better I hope. I drive it really light though, very
rarely go over 2k rpms. I get on the highway and set the cruise to 65
mph. Either you got a bad truck mpg wise by luck of the draw, or you
need to lighten it up on the gas.

No issues here...
'07 4x4 CC LB SE 6pd... I'm getting 18/22 with just 1500 miles and 87 octane and one tank of 93 so far. We haven't really had the cold weather since I got the truck but previously I always saw about a 2 mpg drop on my old Pathy 3.5, Frontier 3.3 and wife's Sentra 1.8 when runnning the winter fuels which contain a higher concentration of Ethanol. Also my understanding is that they no longer oxygenate fuels as they did just a couple of years ago (which was a big factor to lower MPG in the winter).
As far as letting a vehicle warm up... purely a comfort thing. As long as the oil pressure is good... your good to go as long as you don't hammer on it.
FWIW, Nate

2005 LE CC 2WD here. I have about 25k on the ticker. Around town I get about 18MPG, and I get about 26MPG on the highway. Of course I drive the speed limit, with cruise control set when I'm on the highway.

i'm looking at a 99' 4x4 v6 5spd with 117K today for a fair price. does this model have the same motor that you guys are speaking of ? i am concerned with the MPG ! does this year have a good reputation? anything i should look out for other than your basic tranny feel, clutch, brakes etc.?

'99 will have the VG33 motor. The 05 and above have the VQ40... very different animal. The VG's were highly reliable and have a great rep. I previously had an '03 Frontier 4x4 Off Road with the VG33 and 5spd and never saw above 19 with it. Conversly I never saw below 16. On a trip from SC to NY pulling my '72 Z, about 3200lbs including trailer plus about another 800 lbs of crap in the bed, kept it around 70mph and got 17mpg. I loved that truck. The only real downside to the VG is that it has a timing belt, but Nissan rated the belt for 105,000 miles.
My 03 was geared with the 4.64:1 axles from the factory which I believe was the biggest culprit for the mileage... on the other hand it was great for pulling stuck Tacomas and Jeeps

'05 V6, 6 spd.
I get 19-20 in my mixed Hwy/City driving.
Have seen as much as 29.25 mpg at a steady 60 mph on flat coastal highways. 23-24 at steady 70 mph.
Mileage has gotten better as the mmiles have built. Over 30K now and the improved mileage seemed to kick in after 20K.

07 CC 4x4 SE getting 20mpg consistently with mixed driving (50/50). Got around 17mpg until I started using AMSOIL's Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil (TSO). AMSOIL Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil efficiently transfers energy from the engine to the drivetrain. Its low coefficient of friction inhibits the energy loss to “drag” common to high viscosity oils.
Motorists seeking the ultimate in fuel efficiency can use AMSOIL Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil in place of 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oils.
There's no other product like it on the market. Give it a try.
